My Description of a Maltese: A very elegant and beautiful dog. They have very long white coats with no undercoat, should not be curly or kinky. Their hair can be cut short for easier care and look just as pretty. There is very little to no shedding and is good for someone that suffers from allergies. They are considered hypoallergenic. I believe that they do well in an apartment as well as country life. The adult maltese can weigh between 3 to 12 pounds, standards in a whole is 4-10 pounds. AKC standards is ideally under 7 pounds with 4 to 6 being ideal.
